FAQ's About Appointments

When should you start dress shopping?

We recommend you start dress shopping 12 months before your wedding date and that you place an order for your dress no later than 6 months before, this will allow enough time to get your dress made, delivered and fitted for your big day. If your wedding date is within the next 6 months 'Don't Panic'!
Most designers can accommodate a quick turn around for a small surcharge. We also have a great selection of ex sample dresses in excellent condition at bargain prices that are ready for you to take away on the day! If you have any concerns about getting your dress in time please contact us and we will be happy to help.

What appointment times are available?

We try to be as flexible as possible when it comes to appointments times as we understand it isn't always easy to attend an appointment
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm. Please check out our online booking page for availability or drop us a message if you can't see a time that works for you and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Why we charge a booking fee?

Unfortunately we have had to introduce a £25 booking fee for all first appointments after a number of “no show” customers.
We put a lot of time and effort into every appointment and feel the fee has not only stopped the no shows but also puts a value on the service and knowledge we provide.
The fee is non-refundable but can be transferred to an alternative date.

What you need to bring to your appointment?

Nude or white underwear and a strapless bra can be handy for trying on our dresses but a lot of the gowns we stock come with built in support so don’t worry if you don’t have one.
Please don’t wear heavy make-up or instant tan on the day of your appointment as we want our sample dresses to stay beautiful for all our brides.

How long will your appointment last?

We allocate 2 hours for our bridal and bridesmaids appointments to ensure you have plenty of time to talk through your ideas and create your prefect look without feeling under pressure.

We also have styling appointments available to find all your finishing touches.

How many guests can you bring to your appointment and are there any COVID restrictions?

Although government restrictions have been removed we still want to make our boutique a safe space for our customers and staff and with the presence of COVID-19 still very much about we still have some protective measures in place.

To allow for better social distancing we are keeping a limit on guests for bridal appointments and ask that you only bring 2 guests to your appointment but please contact us if you wish to discuss this further.

We no longer require you to wear masks while in the boutique for a general appointment but do ask for masks to be worn during all fitting appointments to reduce the risk for brides and our seamstress so close to wedding dates.

Can children attend a bridal appointment?

Although the idea of having your darling little one at your appointment might sound like a good idea we often find that having young children in the boutique can be a distraction for our brides and their guests. Wedding dress shopping for up to 2 hours isn't much fun for young children and, as much as we love them, they can require lots of attention. We understand that childcare can be difficult so always accommodate but advise against bringing them along if possible and make this experience all about you!

What to expect from your first bridal appointment?

Before each appointment we ask brides to complete a short 'About Me' form that contains information such as personal style, sizes and budget to gain some insight into you and your wedding before you arrive.
Upon arrival you and your bridal team will be greeted with a welcome drink whilst we take a first look at our gowns. Then it's up to our studio fitting room for the exciting part!
Once we have discovered your prefect dress it's time for the measuring and ordering. Most of our dresses can be customised to suit every brides needs and create a truly bespoke look.
On order of a dress we require a 50% deposit with the remainder of the balance being paid once your dress arrives in-store. Unfortunately we don't offer credit options but we can make arrangements for you to spread the remaining balance out into monthly payments with the full balance being complete in time for your dress delivery in to store.

What sizes are our sample gowns?

Our sample gowns range in sizes from 10 - 22 with the majority of our dresses being in a size 12, this might mean that the dress you try on will likely be the wrong size for you, but don't let this worry you! We have plenty of tricks up our sleeve to help you visualise how the gowns will look when fitting correctly.
Many of the designers we stock also offer made to measure or shorter/longer length dress options but these can be at an additional charge.

What happens when your dress arrives in-store?

Once your dress arrives in-store we will contact you via telephone and email, at this point we will arrange payment of any balance due and book
you in for your first fitting appointment.
We do offer a fitting service that is operated independently by the very talented Ange from Alterations & Creations and appointments will take place in our boutique, or you are welcome to take your dress to a seamstress of your choice.
